Sometimes having a lot to review is really overwhelming to me ^^;

Like having to review 200+ words, 50 Kanji, 50-ish grammar, 7 sentences, etc. I don’t think I plan to do it with the words since I’m having less trouble. But I really need to set some more time to focus on Kanji as I’m struggling more with it, but having to do thousands of things at once is overwhelming.

Is it possible for the amount to be lowered daily? Also advice with how to really memorize N3 Kanji outside of mnemonics would be great. I’m currently immersing with reading and while it helps, I feel like I need more in my daily routine

To set a daily term study limit, click the settings for the schedule you want to configure, click more settings, uncheck "study as much as I can" then set the limit you want. I don't really have too many tips for kanji, (im in the hell of learning them tookao_cry.png) but there's plenty of games online you can play revolving kanji memorization, 'tho I think anythings fine, as long as you stick to something you'll get it down eventually.

the only long term way to limit your reviews on an srs system (like renshuu) is to not add as many new items.

srs systems function on the assumption that you manage to do all your reviews every day. if you don’t do that, they will pile up. that leads to overwhelming work loads and also breaks the system (because the spacing between the repetitions stops working).

if you only occasionally have too many items to review, setting a daily limit can be helpful. but if you feel like you always have too much to do, the only real solution is to stop adding new items to your reviews for a while.

looking at your stats, you might also really want to improve your accuracy! the default settings on renshuu (and on most srs systems) are really punishing when you have low accuracy. the workload increases exponentially as your accuracy drops. my personal limit is about 90%, if my accuracy goes below that for any length of time it is a sign to slow down and stop adding new items.

to sum up: stop adding new items until your accuracy and daily time spent return to more manageable levels. then start adding new items.

it can feel very bad having to “stop learning new stuff”, but you will be better off for it.

In my opinion, grammar is the biggest offender by far. Especially if you have this setting ticked:

I'd personally start "trimming" there. I don't really like SRS for learning grammar anyway. Again, this is just me :)

There's a thread by Michael about this:

I also recently gave someone else some tips not found in there. Look towards the end of this thread for my post:

Sorry, there was an error on renshuu! If it's OK, please describe what you were doing. This will help us fix the issue.
