Maybe in "extended search" it is possible ? in regular search I'm not able to do that eithter.

I use other apps/sites instead : takoboto (on smarthpone) or jisho.org (web site) for text search (if I know the kanji or kana of (part of) what I search for). Takoboto allows creating personal entries and word lists (I have a list of shiatsu/acupuncture jargon, as well as 古武道 specific words, I should ask Maiko-san one day if its possible to import them on renshuu); and it uses the ? and * joker for searches.

And when I'm not sure of the kanji, I use kankan.pt (that web site allows for fuzzy searches, eg 「言士ル」will find (among a lot others) 読. It is a bit too fuzzy for searching kanji alone, better to search for words. For example imagine I found an old text with 讀書 and I don't know the first kanji; I can search for「言士貝」書 (the 「...」is to give a fuzzy image of a single kanji), and it will find it (and show it is the old kanji writing of 読書):

Another nice site is kanji.club, it allows to get "families" of kanji (each kanji has links to other kanjis that use it as a component, and links to their components (that, give lists of kanji using them), the search can be done by listing the components, and it show those matching an AND combination of them, eg:

(as you can see, it isn't "complete", it lacks 㸿 ; but the only site I know that has extensive links allowing to find all those variants is the english wiktionary (for 売 it lists
