When I merged my Words for Japanese Basics and Words for Beginner Japanese schedules (both completed), I suddenly had 34 terms that I already knew marked as unstudied. Any ideas why?

(also my apologies, I meant to post this under Questions about renshuu)
Could you show (screenshot) "unstudied terms (34)" instead of all terms? Are they all at 0% mastery?
Did both schedules have the same vectors? I have some ideas, but I'd need to see the terms.
Yes, they are all back to 0% mastery. And I believe both schedules had the same vectors

Let me know if you need more screenshots.
I added both to check if maybe one uses a different version of ごみ, for example, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Merging them worked fine for me. Nothing out of the ordinary. You do get to pick which schedule's settings to use for the merger, so that might have something to do with it.
Could you look a few of them up in Advanced Search? Check if you have any mastery at all (on any vector).
From there you can also scroll down and check if you've studied any of the duplicates. Unlikely, but worth checking.
If you're sure that you've studied them before, and you have 0% in Advanced Search, it might just be bug of some kind.
In that case you could manually set the mastery for all of them.
I could be missing something... not sure.
Edit: I actually have one unstudied term in the merged schedule. It's just a different version of ゼロ. I've studied one of the other versions. I don't think that's relevant here though.
If it makes any difference, both schedules had the exact same settings.
Also, I looked up a fair amount of the terms in Advanced Search and all of them had one version with some level of mastery, but it wasn't the version in the schedule. Only one version was studied for every term.
Hmm... so you did study at least one version for each of them? One last thing you can check is the "History" on your terms (the ones with mastery).

Takes a long time (10-20 seconds) to load.
I guess the version you were studying somehow got switched out for a different one? Could it have something to do with schedules being updated or duplicate removal? I'm honestly not sure.
You should wait a bit longer, in case Michael (or anyone else) has some information. After that, I say you just manually up their mastery to whatever level you feel is good. The ones you feel like you know well enough you can just set to 100%. Or hide, whichever you prefer.
Huh, interesting.
I checked the history for the terms with mastery and it seems normal. Seems like we've hit a dead end. If all else fails, I'll do what you suggested and manually adjust the mastery. Thank you so much for trying to help
Go to the merge tool once more, then do the custom option. Near the bottom, you'll see a whole bunch of terms. Unless you want to study both versions, I'd tap the link at the top that says "check all main terms", then save it.
Hi! I didn’t merge any schedules, but I have almost the same issue with almost the same number of words.
About a month ago, I cleared the "words for beginner Japanese" schedule.
Yesterday I wanted to change the review quiz size from 10 to 20. I got a bit confused and switched the mode from Normal to Custom. Then I realized this setting didn’t help, so I changed it back to Normal and adjusted the quiz size in the advanced settings.
After these changes, I noticed that I now have to learn 35 words, even though I had already completed that schedule.
These words now have 0 mastery and no history, but I clearly remember learning them.
Of course, it’s possible that my actions didn’t cause these 35 words to appear again. However, in the previous days when I reviewed this schedule daily, it was always marked as "fully learned", and there was no Learn button.
That’s why I’m wondering whether there might have been an update on the Renshuu server yesterday.

(side-note, but apparently the new post-making format doesn't allow you to edit posts
)
I also noticed today that my total terms at the top of the dashboard went from 1,907 to 1,899.
グリカ : did you try running the merge tool mentioned earlier?
Inkheart:
1. I have not had any editing issues yet. Can you tell me exactly which you are trying to edit, and how you are trying to edit it? At what point is it failing? (The edit button is non responsive, the form seems off, it doesn't save, etc.). I have no doubt I'll be able to fix it once I get some specifics.
2. As to the words, I believe I found the edge case that your terms slipped into, and ran the merge process once more. Please see how it looks now :)
So, it looks like some progress was made, but there's an interesting new issue
(another change with the new post format by the way: I can't add any text beneath an image. There's nowhere to click that allows me to keep writing).
And as far as the editing issue goes, it's confusingly inconsistent. I was able to edit another post I made with no problem, but every now and then, it doesn't work. I'll try to click the text box and my keyboard won't come up. Not quite sure how to pinpoint it.
Edit: I think I found an issue. Every time you start a post with a kaomoji, it doesn't allow you to add text after it (a.k.a. the keyboard won't appear).

It’s most likely a visual issue (with the schedule) that will fix itself when the schedule rolls over to the new day.
As to the forum issues, do you mind making a new post? The topics are getting cluttered, and this isn't the right forum.

no, I did not. And i didn't want to merge anything.
It's not a merge in most cases - it is a moving of the mastery data from a less common version of the term to a more common one. With that page (just read the instructions carefully), you can move the mastery over AND hold onto the rarer versions, so you remove those 0% issues and keep the terms intact.

マイコー さん、sorry, I don’t fully understand what you mean by a rarer version. and where I can find the instructions?
Also, if I choose not to move anything, will this situation happen again with this schedule or with other schedules? I thought that once a schedule is cleared, it stays completed permanently and only requires review, no?
All the instructions and examples of "rare" terms, etc., is on the merge page. At the top, where it asks to leave it up to renshuu or do it yourself, tap the second option, then you'll get all the info.
This was a one time change, and should not happen again with any other schedules in the future.
