I would love to remove any duplicates from my mega schedule of all the words from N5 to n1. I made it by merging all the renshuu schedules and I'm fairly certain there is a fair bit of overlap.

Please use my data as a lab rat!! I've created a few lists for the irl course I've participated and now I'm following Renshuu's lists. I felt that I've studied some repeated words, but I'm not sure

I'm happy to volunteer!

I personally would like to see a "purge duplicates" option in a menu somewhere that opens up a page to choose which dupes you want to remove.

I do agree that a step for the user to confirm (possibly, on a per-term basis) would be nice. I just have to figure out the best way to force the renshuu lesson updates (which are happening to all users) while preserving user choice. At this point, I'm thinking that it will most likely be something like: "The list updates are happening, and only the primary term will remain in renshuu-backed schedules. The primary term will receive the highest mastery data available. Please uncheck any alternate terms that you would like to have remain in your personal term list (with mastery data)."

Also, if one or two people are up for even MORE data sharing, I'd like to take one user's data (just the duplicate term data) and post it here so everyone here can see what I'm looking at, and I can get better feedback on the process that you will all take when this is rolled out. Just one or two users would be enough (older accounts are better, heh.)

I will be fine with it. kao_yoroshiku.png

Your account is much newer, so not as many as others will have, but it's a good example.

There's two patterns:

KEEP / ABSORB: this means that the user has studied both the primary and the alternate term. In this case KEEP is the primary, and ABSORB is the alternate that will disappear, and the relevant mastery/study data will be added to the main term.

MOVE: this means that the user has not studied the main term, only one or more alternate forms. The data from all these alternate terms will be merged and saved as the primary term.

You can see that there are two general categories that cover most of the changes. One is presence/absence of kanji (usually ) - this is most of them. The second is a much smaller group that shows a switch between number based terms. This one is trickier, and may be a target for people who want to keep both of them (even if the renshuu lists are switching over).

While the base dictionary that renshuu uses places the numerical forms (10) over the kanji forms () in terms of priority, I can understand a strong case made for wanting the kanji forms to appear in the quizzes. This is open to debate, but ultimately, I need to choose one or the other, and align all of renshuu's materials to that. I did do a test move (not in anyone's data or lessons, just in the way it is presented in the dictionary) for all of the hours (you can see one at the bottom), and I feel that would be ideal for the most number of people - keeping the kanji form. (Note: this is not a setting where users could use which one they want to use in the lessons.)
