Personally, I recommend Renshuu's "Beginner 500 (N5 Level)" and "Basic 300“ for beginners. Those have a lot of useful expressions you can study, and even feature audio you can listen to.
Renshuu has literally thousands of sentences in its database. Open the dictionary, select the sentences tab, and search for any phrase in Japanese or English.

Even though you are right..renshuu doesn't accept machine translated, but it doesn't specify that you can't use translations in forums for small talks like these.
